The book (My Abandonment) (by Peter Rock (2009)) begat a whole bunch of 'follow-ons' - a TV series (Hanna (no "h" at the end)), a second TV series same name, both of which are European (Bulgaria, but Poland, mostly ) - Then, about 10 years later a Movie (called "Leave No Trace") with a considerably different story-line (especially for the daughter) and based in Portland, Oregon in the USA...
HOWEVER, they are VASTLY DIFFERENT...
the first 'stuff' (roughly 2009) is European based and the daughter is taught, from a young age, to be an assassin. The actresses in the TV series were:
Season 1: Esme_Creed-Miles as Hanna Season 2: Saoirse_Ronan as Hanna
There seems to be a bit of 'confusion' about which actresses stared in which season for which effect, ete. etc. etc. - Make sure to watch both seasons, out of order if you want?!
- In the Portland, Oregon based 'stuff' (from - roughly 2018-2019) the father-daughter are basically pacifists
The 2018-2019 "Stuff" - again Amazon Prime Video - but this time a movie and this time centric to Portland, Oregon, where the original book author (Peter Rock) wrote about this father-daughter couple based on real people really living in a national forest near Portland
In the "Leave No Trace" movie the lead-actress was a Kiwi named Thomasin McKensie. All three of these actresses did phenomenal work in these presentations BOTH the series and the movie are excellent - but the book is even better - the Book is still called 'My Abandonment' but the story is told from the viewpoint of the teen daughter, Thomasin McKenzie as "Tom" (Hanna) and the adult male author has done a remarkable job of representing her (a teen female) thoughts & motivations.filename: MyAbandon.html revID: f
